Week 24 - What a comeback!

For the 4th year in a row we welcomed back our friends from Slovakia.

Full of hope, big smiles and tired eyes after a long journey to Kengis Bruk they were ready for a week of Baltic salmon fishing.

And the conditions looked good!

Peter was debating with the other guys if they should start fishing through the first night or go to sleep and be fully ready for the next day. We think he was happy that he skipped his sleep. Not more than a few cast into the first round Peter hooked a good fish in Island pool and our predictions about the week looked like they were right.

It is a pleasure seeing guests returning to Kengis Bruk year after year. They know the place, the concept and they learn more and more about the fishing, so they know how to fish it in different water levels and conditions. In the end it gives them a better starting point when fishing at Kengis, but most importantly they come back for the feeling.

This group has had difficult fishing, but read on and see how that changed this week.

With Peter landing a good fish the first evening, the following day was even better.

With active fish during the full day it was a day they will never forget. The group landed and lost fish more or less the full day. And reminded them about the joy of salmon fishing when everything is perfect.

There are not many of these days, but this season we have had a few already! That is magic.

Martin topped the day with a good strong Baltic salmon giving him a great fight! 102cm and in good condition.

The first half of the week was in many ways what most salmon fishermen dream about. Plenty of action, and good sized fish landed.

This week with an average of 92cm on 9 fish landed is good! And 15 lost fish.

We have to admit that we are off for a good start this season.

The following days did still offer good fishing, but when the water dropped the fishing got a little slower. But all guys hooked fish, Ivan landed 4 and all guys had an amazing experience.

Our friends kept up the spirit, had a good time and enjoyed the Kengis feeling.

Thank you guys and see you back next year.

Tight lines!
