  • How many fish do I catch?

    Salmon fishing is never easy and we can’t tell. Average catch rate for 2021 was around 5 fish pr. week. Some weeks with no landed and some with many.

  • Do I get a guide?

    Yes, but we are not with you all the time. You get a intro guide and then we have ghillie service.

  • How do I sleep?

    We have three big double rooms with single beds.

  • What flies do I need?

    Most important is that you believe in your fly! But flies like Banana, Willie Gunn, Den vanliga, Sunray shadow, Black & orange and Phatakorva is working well at Kengis Bruk.

  • What lines do I need?

    Bring different setups. You might need to use everything from floating to heavy sinking lines. Most common lines are the scandi setup, where you can change tip or body to fish deeper.

  • Is there food included?

    No, food is not included. You prepare your own food in our big kitchen at the lodge.

  • Can I fish all the time?

    Yes, our guests can fish 24/7 if they want.

  • Can I catch grayling?

    Yes, many if you want. We have many grayling in the river and some of them in good sizes. So if you want, bring your single hand rod and go on a grayling adventure.

  • Do we provide firewood?

    Yes, and if you need more let us know.

  • How many bathrooms in the lodge?

    There is toilet and shower on each floor in the lodge.

  • Do you have a fly shop?

    We have a small fly fishing shop where you can buy most needed things.

  • Do you have demo gear?

    We have different demo setups free to use by our guests.

  • Do I need a car?

    If you fly to Kengis you need a car from the airport. When you are in Kengis you can walk to all fishing spots.

  • Can I bring home a fish?

    Yes, but we don’t recommend it. Enjoy the experience and let the fish grow.

  • Can I buy souvenirs?

    Yes, we have selected some local goodies to buy for our guests at the lodge. Knives, leather goods and local coffee.
