Season recap blog 2025
The last cast has swung its way in 2025. After many many casts, hours, smiles, tears, laughs, bonfires and landed fish we can look back at the 2025 season!
And what a season.
Once again we welcomed a wide range of Kengis friends who visited us this year and we are really proud of being part of your hunt for a big Baltic salmon.
Over the years we have developed and worked on our concept and we are at a place right now where we know it works!
You guys have as much fishing time as you want and we are there to help. Thank you for understanding us.

Fishing:
We had the best fishing season in many years this season! Many fish and big fish! Just what we wished for!
All the way to the middle of June we had an average size of 94cm!
That is fantastic! And the reason why you should visit us! The challenge of catching a big baltic salmon, but when we have good conditions it can be amazing fishing.
In theory we expect to catch one fish pr. 1000 fish passing the fish counter. That is a number that has matched our seasons for years now. Sometimes a little more or a little less, but overall been a factor we have looked for.
This year 45064 fish passed the fish counter and we landed 72 fish and lost 99 fish! This year we were ahead of our own theory in the best possible way.
The biggest fish landed from our lodge this season was Robert with his 115cm big Baltic salmon. Sitting on the bench being a little frustrated and the rotation almost coming to an end he was forced into the water for a last round. And that round he will never forget! Such a great feeling and experience for our friend Robert
The smallest fish was landed by Thomas in the late season. A great fish around 45cm. Why do we celebrate that? For the past years we have not seen that many grilse passing Kengis Bruk. This year we saw many grilse passing and that gives us hopes for the future.
And you can not choose what fish that strikes your fly, so be happy for all the fish you land.
The first fish of the season was landed by our lodge manager on the 1st of June. And what a fish! 107cm and 57cm in girth. It gave us an idea about the upcoming season and it continued.
Great start on a great season.
Last fish of the season was once more our good friend Frantz that landed one of many grilse from the last week of the season.
He had one of his best weeks of all his visits to Kengis and ended this season with the last fish!
And we also had a few first on fly experiences this season! Huge congrats to all landing their first on fly from Kengis Bruk.
Kengis feeling has been a big part of 2025! We shared meals, stories and memories. And that is the only thing we can guarantee!
Some say that you have to visit us to experience it, and they might be true.
The north bank of Kengis Bruk is the opposite bank of the private lodge bank. And this year we have had many visitors fishing our public water. Thank you for your support!
And fishing has been quite good this season with Any topping it off with a huge Baltic salmon!
The public side is only six rods pr. day and then local year license fishermen. Plenty of room to fish and interesting pools / stretches to fish!

The Baltic salmon fund
This year we teamed up with BSF to raise money for our beloved Baltic salmon. And we are proud to let you know that with the support of all our guests we can donate 10.000 SEK to the foundation to proceed to the hard work of protecting the Baltic salmon.
2026 is waiting and we dream of another good season at Kengis Bruk. If it looks like 2025 we will be really happy.
Thank you for following our journey and be ready for much more content from us until next season.
Tight lines!
