Why do you fish for Baltic salmon?

We did not catch any fish this week, so looked into ourself and asked a important question. Here is our guests answers;

And why do you fish for Baltic salmon?

Fabrice

For me fly fishing is a family story. My father teached me how to cast with a fly rod and my oncle had this passion for fly tying when I was a young boy.

We fished the trouts and the graylings of our wonderful local river, "la Sorgue" and always considered the salmon fly fishing like the state of the art, a kind of innate dream...

One day of 2021, I saw my friend Frantz in a Hooké TV show in Lapland, they where fishing this amazing fish in paradise. I gave a call to Frantz to ask him to show me the Baltic salmon fishing in Lapland and he said : "ok, when you want..."

My father and my uncle aren’t here anymore, and now I occasionally fish Baltic salmon with a fly and somehow they fish with me...”

Pascal

“It is very simple, an amazing fish and some beautiful rivers and surroundings.

I like all the challenges that we have to face to finally catch a fish.

It is such a pleasure when you finally catch one.”

Frantz

“For the wilderness and the feeling of authenticity that it conveys.

Compared to other places where I fished for Atlantic salmon, chasing the mighty Baltic only happens in authentic places.

The connexion with nature is strong and revitalizing.”

Thierry

"I have been a fisherman since I was young and have been passionate about fly fishing for over 25 years. 2 friends offered me to take part in this great adventure in Sweden: Baltic Salmon fly fishing. This mythical and mystical fish in this country with such large spaces where nature takes on its full meaning. I didn't hesitate for a second and thank you for this adventure!"

BONUS:
Damien is following his fahter on this trip and making a film about their time togehter. Fantastic to see them making memories togehter.

"The Baltic salmon is a mysterious and beautiful fish. Since my father suggested that I come to Sweden with him, I'm bonded with this fish and this wild environment of Lapland. I wanted to explore, learn more about the region, this fishing and film it to finally say to myself: why not try to make people feel what I experienced in this extraordinary place to make people want to take an interest in this country and want to save this haven of peace and nature."

We cross fingers for more action next week!

Tight lines.
