Kengis Bruk program

Hi all Kengis friends,

One of the most asked questions is; “How is your program at Kengis?”
So let's take a look at a typical week at Kengis Bruk.

Flying to Kengis:

If you choose to fly to Kengis Bruk you can either fly to Kiruna, Luleå or Pajala.

From Kiruna and Luleå you can get a rental car and drive to Kengis Bruk. It is about 2-3 hrs drive.

From Luleå there is a small plane flying to Pajala (In June and August) you can look up the tickets at www.jonair.se

If you choose to fly to Pajala, let us know and we can help with different transfer opportunities.

Arrival at Kengis:

When you swing into the parking lot at Kengis you will be welcomed and you will probably look at the mighty Torne falls and listen to the sound of Kengis. It is something special.

Time to unpack the car and move into the lodge. You will be shown your room and take a look at the lodge. During this time many questions pop up and we are ready to answer most of them.

Then you will get a little time to rest and unpack and then we meet up for an intro talk and intro guide. We will talk about last week's fishing, expectations, the lodge, our small shop, rotation plan, gear and of course the fishing.

The maps in the lodge all show the fishing zones and in the info material there are small descriptions of all zones and striking points.

After a good talk, we put on the waders and take a river walk. We will now show you the water and talk more into the actual fishing and how to target the different zones at Kengis Bruk.

At the end you are ready to swing your fly at Kengis.

Fishing:

The next six days are all about fishing, bonfire, coffee and good memories. Remember that you do not necessarily catch a baltic salmon, so it's important to collect all the good memories around the fishing.

We will each day report about water level and temperature and check in with you guys and help out.

Fishing at Kengis is quite simple, there are no “crazy” places, everything is within walking distance of the lodge, so we will not be on your side all the time. Just remember, if you need our help, let us know. We will always be there.

You can fish 24hrs pr. day if you are super hardcore, there are no “non fishing” times and you can arrange your days as you want.

That gives you the freedom to forget about time and place.

Food:

We do not make food for our guests. It is a choice in order to give you guys more freedom in your fishing. If the fishing is best at nighttime, it makes no sense to have closing time or long dinners in the evening. Since everything is within walking distance most guests bring food to the riverbank and grill a burger or sausage and eat more when they return to the lodge.

Do you need help?:

Most of the time there will be one lodge manager / ghillie at Kengis, so it is really important for us to have a close connection with our guests in order to help you in the best possible way. We are always ready to help with tips and tricks, casting, filling up firewood or boiling some coffee, but it is important you guys let us know if you need help. Together we can make the experience better.

What is included:

  • Private fishing at Kengis Bruk

  • Accommodation

  • Intro guide

  • Ghillie service all week

  • Cleaning

  • Bed clothes

  • Towels

Departure:

Sunday morning it is time to say goodbye and see you hopefully again.

Departure is before 10.00, so we can get ready for the next guests.

Over and out and see you again next season!

That is more or less a week in Kengis. We do our best to combine exciting fishing with good local experiences and in that way create good memories.

We are always open for new ideas and constantly trying to improve and fine tune our program, so please give us feedback if you have some.

Tight lines and thank you for your time.
