KENGIS BRUK & FLIES
It is time to get ready for the season and we have been posting step by step with flies that work well in our waters at Kengis Bruk.
In this blog we will make a sum up with flies and descriptions on what to use for tying. We hope you will enjoy some fly tying before the season starts.
BLACK & ORANGE
An allround fly that works well in the early season on cloudy days and in the late season for the stationary fish. It seems like orange make them a bit angry and can be the trick to get them to strike.Tie them in size 6-8 cm wing for the early season and 3-5 cm wing for the late season.

BLACK & BLUE
A classic color combination for the early fishing and once we heard a tip from a boatfisher, that told us that some times blue is the only color that works on some days in the early season. It is a good joker to have in the box and use when everyone else has used all the "normal" flies.

ORANGE FLY
This one was a very productive fly in 2018 after the heatwave was gone and the water temperature went down. Durring august we caught some good numbers and bif fish this little all orange fly.

WILLIE GUNN
This fly is a "need to have in the box" fly. It is on the end of the leader most of the time when we have some time to fish durring the season and it has proven to be a good choice. The color combination works good for all season and all weather. If we could choose one fly for all season this would be the one.

DIRTY BANANA
The Banana fly is also a classic fly in the rivers up north. On sunny days this can be the fly that works and activates the fish. This one is tied with a overwing in golden olive to give it a bit more contrast. When you go to fish Kengis Bruk you need to bring some banana flies.
